Sure, everyone has an opportunity to make money in any network marketing company. You have an opportunity to make a lot of money, but only if you enroll others into the company…and that’s where the problem begins.

It’s a problem because according to various statistics the average network marketer enrolls less than 3 people before they quit and almost all network marketing companies pay measly commissions for referring others, but they reward the "big hitters" for building big teams.

Most network marketing companies tell you that anyone has the potential to earn thousands of dollars a month in their business, but what they don’t tell you is that their comp plan requires you to have a large team of at least hundreds of people before you even earn a $1000 check.

There are thousands of network marketers who have enrolled 10, 20 or even 30 people and have never earned a check over $1000. Many network marketers have enrolled 3 or more people in their businesses and are still negative cash flow because they have to spend so much on their products every month. The reality is that most network marketing companies make it difficult for their distriubutor to even "break even" on their monthly costs.

I've looked at hundreds of network marketing companies, comp plans and products. I've even bought into many of them, I'm familiar every multi level marketing comp plan known to man...Binary, Two Team, Unilevel, Breakaway, Matrix, Perpetual Leverage, One Up, Two Up....You name it I've seen it.

I've tried even more products. Most companies have good products. But most of the products offered by network marketing companies are more expensive than what you could buy online through a regular store. Some nutritional mlm's have unique products, but most of the time similar and even better products can be purchased online or at a local health food store for less cost and without having to pay for inflated shipping charges.Network mareketing companies are notorious for saying their products are less expensive, the reality is that most network marketing products simply cost you more.

I didn't join a network marketing company so I could pay extra for similar products I can find somewhere else online at a cheaper price. I joined to make a profit, and to do it as quickly as easily as possible, and with the lowest possible expense. I joined a network marketing company to become what I call "PCF" or "Positive Cash Flow" as soon as possible.

I have to believe in the product that I am representing and know that it offers a great value to the consumer, to my customers and to those on my team.

At the same time the product has to be reasonably priced and the company has to have a comp plan that does not require the average distributor to pay $100 a month or more just to earn a check.

Out of all the companies, products and comp plans I found that almost all of the compensation plans were difficult for the "average person" to keep at it and make money.

Most companies require you to either:

A. Spend over $100 a month in products to qualify or
B. Have a large group or a good number of people on your team to make any money.
C. Or both of the above.

It's important to know your real cost of operating your home based business before you begin. Network marketing can be profitable. But there are business expenses that you will have to commit to every month in order to make it work and to grow your business. If you are tight on cash flow, or not completely sure that you’ll be able to handle the regular financial commitment it’s going to be harder to succeed.

You also have to know how to make a profit in network marketing and begin to generate a positive monthly cash flow. Then you have to find a way to duplicate your success so that anyone that joins you can also enjoy the same success by following your footsteps.

In other words, it takes time, effort, a financial commitment plus a "commitment to others" to succeed in network marketing. Most people soon find out that it's not as easy as it sounds.
